S.T.A.R. Teens builds confidence and
resilience in teens and promotes strong, supportive relationships between adults and teens.
The program can be delivered either as a mentoring program, one caring adult or
mentor working with one child, or in small group relationships established between adults and youth. The expectation is set
that we are all achievers and have within us the ability to achieve great and wonderful things. We recognize and build on
the strengths of each individual, and in this environment, children flourish.
“Excellent—very
realistic and practical. You convey your ideas with great clarity and insight, qualities that make it easier for adults
and the teens with whom they work to understand the importance of self-efficacy, dreams, goal-setting, and resilience. I was
very pleased to see that you included chapters about gratitude, unique gifts, and everyday heroes. You have captured
so many significant themes.”

S.T.A.R.
Teens has been designed in such a way
that anyone who believes in kids and their ability to achieve can successfully facilitate the program. The materials include
a Mentor Guide, Teen Guides and Coaching Guidelines. The Mentor Guide and Teen Guide carry the content and
the Coaching Guidelines provide recommendations and suggestions for working with the children and maximizing the
effectiveness of the program.
“The middle school years are critical
in terms of building children's resilience and self-esteem. I highly recommend S.T.A.R. Teens as a vehicle to build self-esteem, and
self-reliance in your middle school child.”
