Building Resilience and Self-Efficacy in Young People

Today, the world is more demanding and more competitive than ever. The result can be increased pressure and stress on our kids. S.T.A.R. Teens and our College to Career programs are designed to prepare your son or daughter to be resilient and able to meet challenges head on. At KidsWin, our goal is to give young people the skills they need to achieve their personal best in high school, college and in their work.

Below are listed the benefits of participating in S.T.A.R. Teens and our College to Career programs: Take a moment to identify those that you feel would be most valuable for your child or young adult.

Able to acknowledge personal strengths and accomplishments

Can identify gifts and talents that are unique to him or her

Displays confidence in his or her abilities

Sees himself or herself as capable and competent to meet situations as they arise

Sets goals for himself or herself

Persists when discouraged or experiencing setbacks

Demonstrates the capacity to take a risk or to seek out challenges

          Has an optimistic outlook

Builds relationships with peers and adults

Shows support and encouragement to others

If your child or young adult were able to accomplish these things, what impact would this have on him or her?

Sometimes, all we need is someone to guide us.
